‘Start Up Nation’ is one of the finest pieces of French pop to have appeared this year. Keep Dancing Inc have continued to expand their bouncy, analogue sound, combining an addictive bassline and an almost-impossible-not-to-dance-to four to the floor drum pattern into a retro-sounding maze of 80s inspired pop. Despite the sense of fun that permeates everything they do, this track combines a humorous lyrical approach with subtle political commentary. The Parisian three-piece have rightfully attained attention from across the Channel and the rest of the world, and we can only expect that to continue when their debut EP, Embrace, releases this Autumn. - Dan Peeke
